Leupold Illuminated FireDot Twilight Hunter

Drawn to scale from Leupold’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Leupold Illuminated FireDot Twilight Hunter — second focal plane, MOA subtensions, 1.5–5×

Framed to about 40 MOA — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 110 MOA; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.

Drawn from Leupold & Stevens, Inc.’s published specification.

Subtensions

Leupold Illum. FireDot Twilight Hunter spec sheet (Illum._FireDot_Twilight_Hunter-10.7.2025.pdf, (c)2025), table row VX-3HD 1.5-5x: a = heavy line 6.3 / 19.0, b = thin line 0.8 / 2.4, c = thin opening 140.7 / 422.1 MOA (High-X / Low-X); this record uses High-X at 5x. Three heavy posts - left, right and bottom - each coming to a point; NO top post, the thin vertical runs to the field edge above centre. c is the FULL opening between the side post tips (its leaders sit on both tips). Red FireDot at centre; only the dot is illuminated. The dot's diameter is drawn but not dimensioned, so no size is claimed. Bottom post tip at c/2 and taper base at 0.6686 c are MEASURED from the vector artwork, which is to scale for this table (see verifiedNote). Post outer ends and the upper thin line stop at the sheet's field-of-view ring (1.043 c), capped here at 110 MOA (the ring would sit at 146.8), a display convention.

How this one was checked

Verified 8 Oct 2026 against Illum._FireDot_Twilight_Hunter-10.7.2025.pdf page 1, by reading the vector outline with pymupdf (tools/build_leupold_gaps.py). The single drawing is to scale for EVERY row of the table: calibrating the drawing per row by its published c (tip-to-tip 434.50 pt) reproduces that row's published a and b to the table's rounding on all six rows (VX-6HD GEN 2 3-18x: a 1.61 vs 1.61, b 0.20 vs 0.2; VX-5HD GEN 2 3-15x: a 1.92 vs 1.92, b 0.24 vs 0.24; VX-3HD 1.5-5x: a 6.32 vs 6.3, b 0.79 vs 0.8; VX-3HD 3.5-10x: a 2.96 vs 3.0, b 0.37 vs 0.4; VX-3HD 4.5-14x: a 2.14 vs 2.1, b 0.27 vs 0.3; VX-FREEDOM 3-9x: a 3.27 vs 3.3, b 0.41 vs 0.4). That is what licenses measuring two features the table does not state: the bottom post tip sits at exactly 0.500 c like the side tips (measured 0.5000 / 0.5000 / 0.5000), and each post tapers from a point at the tip to full width a at 0.6686 c on all three arms. Checked: outline (three posts, no top post); no hashes, no numerals; centre FireDot alone at centre with the thin cross running through it; post inner ends pointed and facing centre on all three arms; thin vertical to the field edge above; letters a, b, c each mapped to geometry. Not published and not claimed: FireDot diameter. Display convention: posts stop at the drawn field-of-view ring.
