Leupold Illuminated FireDot Boone & Crockett spec sheet (Illum_FireDot_Boone_Crockett.pdf), linked from the leupold.com product page VX-6HD Gen 2 3-18x44 CDS-SZL2 Side Focus Illum. FireDot Boone & Crockett. Sheet text: measures correctly at the highest available magnification. Published: holds at 2.2 / 4.8 / 6.3 / 7.8 MOA below centre, bar reaches 2.2 and 3.0 MOA, 0.7 MOA heavy lines, 0.2 MOA fine lines. Same geometry as the plain Boone & Crockett (catalogue p5, leupold-boone-crockett) - checked feature by feature, below - but here ONLY a centre FireDot is illuminated (the sheet draws it red; every line is black), unlike the Gen 1 VX-6HD Illum. Boone & Crockett whose whole inner section glows. The FireDot is drawn but not dimensioned, so no size is claimed. The two hold bars are wedges (0.05 thick at the vertical, 0.45 at the tip, starting 0.11 off the line); like the p5 record they are drawn at 0.25, the mean, because a taper element there would be read as post furniture by the painter's framing rule. Hold positions, bar reaches and the bottom post tip use the PUBLISHED figures (2.2 / 4.8 / 6.3, 2.2 / 3.0, 7.8; each measured within 0.04 MOA of its callout); unpublished features (side/top post tips, taper lengths, the 6.3 tick's reach) are measured. Posts drawn to 20 MOA, a display convention.
How this one was checked
Verified 9 Oct 2026 against Illum_FireDot_Boone_Crockett.pdf page 1, magnified right-hand view, read from the VECTOR outline (53 vertices) with pymupdf (tools/build_leupold_wave2.py). Centre = the red FireDot's centre; scale 7.405 pt/MOA fitted by least squares to the sheet's four grey hold leaders (2.2/4.8/6.3/7.8). Every callout lands on its feature: 2.2 hold (upper bar centre) 2.194 [2.2]; 4.8 hold (lower bar centre) 4.808 [4.8]; 6.3 hold (tick centre) 6.268 [6.3]; 7.8 (bottom post taper start) 7.831 [7.8]; 2.2 reach (upper bar) 2.162 [2.2]; 3.0 reach (lower bar) 3.034 [3.0]; 0.2 fine 0.218 [0.2]; 0.7 heavy 0.674 [0.7]. Feature-by-feature agreement with the verified catalogue p5 record (within 0.05 MOA): side and top post tips 2.55 -> full width 3.02 (top 2.55 -> 3.02), bottom 7.83 -> 8.30, bar reaches 2.16 / 3.03, 6.3 tick reach 0.34. Checklist walked: two wedge bars and one tick below centre and nothing else; no numerals (the '0' is a leader label); fine cross continuous through the FireDot; post tips taper on all four arms; extents to the field ring; every callout mapped.
