Drawn to scale from Leupold’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Framed to about 12 MRAD — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 20 MRAD; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.
Drawn from Leupold & Stevens, Inc.’s published specification.

2021 Leupold Reticles catalogue p36 (HTMR, VX-5HD); the same artwork is Leupold's HTMR spec sheet (https://www.leupold.com/media/binaryanvil/reticle/HTMR.pdf), which the leupold.com product pages for VX-5HD 3-15x44 HTMR and VX-5HD Gen 2 3-15x44 HTMR MIL link. Text on both: subtensions are correct at the highest available magnification. Published: 0.04 MIL fine lines, 0.40 MIL heavy lines, 0.20 MIL short marks, 0.40 MIL long marks, 0.60 MIL mark at the post tips, 0.50 MIL mark spacing, 1.00 MIL long-mark spacing. ⚠️ The per-reticle spec sheet prints the fine-line callout as '0.14 MIL'; the catalogue prints '0.04 MIL', and BOTH documents' drawings measure 0.04 (sheet: callout arrowheads 2.14 pt apart at 50 pt/mil = 0.043). 0.04 is used. Layout: continuous fine cross through centre (no dot, no gap), a mark every 0.5 mil from 0.5 to 4.5 on all four arms (0.20 at half mils, 0.40 at whole mils), a 0.60 mark at 5.0 where the 0.40 heavy post begins on every arm. No numerals. Posts drawn to 20 mil, a display convention (they run to the field edge).
Verified 9 Oct 2026 against the 2021 Leupold Reticles catalogue p36 (HTMR), full-reticle view, measured on a 1200 dpi render of the vector page with tools/build_leupold_wave2.py (the sheet draws the reticle as the gap between four filled quadrants, so it is read as ink, axis by axis). Scale 10.581 pt/mil fitted to all 40 marks on the 0.5 mil lattice; worst residual 0.004 mil. At that scale every callout lands: short 0.196 vs 0.2, long 0.397 vs 0.4, tip 0.601 vs 0.6, heavy 0.397 vs 0.4, fine 0.041 vs 0.04; post tips at 5.02-5.03 on the four arms. Checklist walked: ten marks per arm on all four arms, alternating 0.20 / 0.40, the tenth (5.0) 0.60; marks centred on the line (not one-sided); no numerals; no centre dot or gap; post tips square at 5.0 on all four arms; every callout letter mapped. Cross-checked against the spec sheet HTMR.pdf (same artwork at 12.51 pt/mil: posts at 5.00, marks 0.20/0.40/0.60, heavy 0.40) - its only disagreement is the printed fine-line value (0.14), which its own drawing contradicts.
