Drawn to scale from Leupold’s own specification sheet, and checked
mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Leupold AR-Ballistic — second focal plane, MRAD subtensions
Framed to about 12 MRAD — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 20 MRAD; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.
Leupold AR-Ballistic spec sheet (AR-Ballistic_2_.pdf), linked from the leupold.com product page Mark 3HD 1.5-4x20 AR-Ballistic; the same reticle and numbers are on p4 of the 2021 catalogue. Sheet text: measures correctly at the highest available magnification (4x). Published: drop bars at 0.84 / 1.30 / 1.81 / 2.35 / 2.95 MIL below centre, bar WIDTHS 0.75 / 0.50 / 1.00 / 0.50 / 1.38 MIL (each callout's arrows span its bar - the same reading the verified FireDot BDC record settled; widths are not monotonic), 4.24 MIL to the post tips, 0.14 MIL fine lines, 0.41 MIL heavy lines. Structure: a plain fine cross with heavy posts on ALL FOUR arms (unlike the FireDot BDC, which has no top post), each post tapering from 4.24 to full width at 4.38 (taper measured, not published); five centred bars below centre at the fine-line weight; no dot, no windage marks, no numerals. Posts drawn to 20 MIL, a display convention.
How this one was checked
Verified 9 Oct 2026 against AR-Ballistic_2_.pdf page 1. Two views measured independently: the magnified right-hand view from its 61-vertex VECTOR outline (203.43 units/MIL, fitted to the five published drops), and the full-reticle view on a 720 dpi render read axis by axis (14.282 units/MIL). Drops land at 0.837/1.299/1.817/2.348/2.949 (right) and 0.837/1.299/1.817/2.349/2.948 (full) against 0.84/1.30/1.81/2.35/2.95; bar widths 0.771/0.512/1.063/0.512/1.369 and 0.770/0.504/1.064/0.504/1.365 against 0.75/0.50/1.00/0.50/1.38; post tips 4.243 (top) / 4.243 (bottom) [4.24]; heavy 0.426 [0.41]; fine 0.146 [0.14]; the bars are drawn at the fine-line weight (0.146/0.145/0.146/0.146/0.145). Checklist walked: five bars, each centred on the vertical (offsets under 0.01); nothing above centre or on the windage; posts on all four arms with tapered tips, all four starting at 4.24 (full view 4.387/4.380/4.383/4.383 at full width); no numerals, no dot; every callout mapped.
