In the first focal plane the subtensions hold true at every magnification, so a hold is a hold wherever the zoom ring sits.

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Drawn from Vortex Optics’s published specification.

FFP; the sheet: 'subtensions measured in MOA and remain constant at all magnifications'. The centre scales are illuminated (drawn red). Published: line .1; open centre .3; centre dot .1; grid dots .17 and .26; hashes 2 every 4 MOA and .75 at the others; marks 2 MOA apart on the upper arm near the centre, 1 apart on the horizontal and .5 apart on the outer scales; side posts from 36, 2.08 thick, crossed by a 3.75-long tick (the bottom post also starts at 36 - drawn, not dimensioned). Drawn, not published (the sheet is to scale; read exactly from the vectors): see tools/build_vortex_ffp_grids.py for the full mark list - the scales run to 32 MOA left, right and up and to 32 down (dot grid), the posts' 3.75 ticks sit at 39.9, the holdover grid has a dot row every 4 MOA from 4 to 32 below centre with dots every MOA (every 4th the large one), rows widening from +/-8 (row 4) to +/-24 (row 32). Posts drawn to 43.4 MOA (the sheet's frame is 41.3). Not illuminated.
Verified 8 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_VHS-4315-LR_XLR_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1. Scale 4.3555 pt/MOA fitted to the hash pitch, centre (198.0, 212.6) = the red centre dot; every published callout then lands (all listed in tools/build_vortex_ffp_grids.py). Geometry converted exactly from the vector outlines - every rectilinear ink subpath cut into rectangles from its own vertex coordinates, one element each - so rows, widths, spacing, which side of the line each tick sits, gaps and extents are the drawing's own. Grid dots taken only on the grid; numerals placed from glyph outlines, text from the value of the mark they label.
Harson Ballistics draws this reticle at your magnification with your holdover marked on it, from your rifle, load and conditions. Works with no signal and no account.
Subtensions are published by the manufacturer and reproduced here for reference. Confirm your own dope on a range before you rely on any of it. Harson.ai is not affiliated with Vortex.
