In the first focal plane the subtensions hold true at every magnification, so a hold is a hold wherever the zoom ring sits.

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Drawn from Vortex Optics’s published specification.

FFP; the sheet: 'subtensions measured in MOA and remain constant at all magnifications'. The centre scales are illuminated (drawn red). Published: red line .15; top line .1; centre dot .15; red 4-MOA hashes 2; outer 2-MOA hash .75 and half-MOA .5; red marks 1 MOA apart, outer .5 apart; side posts 1.5 thick with a mark at 48; bottom post from 38; grid dots .2 and .3. Drawn, not published (the sheet is to scale; read exactly from the vectors): red (illuminated) centre scales to 16 MOA left, right and up and to 36 down, open 0.25 at the dot. Vertical red scale: centred hashes 2.0 every 4 MOA, .75 at the other even MOA, .5 at odd MOA. Horizontal red scale differs: even-MOA marks stand 0.6 above the line with a heavier (.2) stub below, detached from it, from 0.2 to 0.8 at 4-MOA marks and to 0.5 at the others; odd-MOA ticks stand ABOVE only, to 0.3. Black outer scales from 16.5 to 32 left and right and to 24 up, centred: .5 every half MOA, .75 at 2-MOA and 1.0 at 4-MOA marks; the upper line breaks between 24 and 25 and runs on; side posts start at 32.5, the bottom post (2.0 thick) at 38; posts carry a 3.0-long tick at 48. Holdover grid: a dot row every 4 MOA from 4 to 36 below centre, dots every MOA, every 4th the large one, rows widening from +/-8 (row 4) to +/-24 (rows 32, 36). Numerals 4-32 on the horizontal arms, 4-24 up, and at both ends of every grid row. The top line is drawn 0.11; the record carries the published .1. Posts drawn to 51.5 MOA (the sheet's frame is 49.1).
Verified 8 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_RZR-42201_XLR-2_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1. Scale 3.6658 pt/MOA fitted to the hash pitch, centre (198.001, 221.102) = the red centre dot; every published callout then lands except one: the top line above 25, published .1, is drawn 0.11 - recorded .1 (all listed in tools/build_vortex_ffp_grids.py). Geometry converted exactly from the vector outlines - every rectilinear ink subpath cut into rectangles from its own vertex coordinates, one element each - so rows, widths, spacing, which side of the line each tick sits, gaps and extents are the drawing's own. Grid dots taken only on the grid; numerals placed from glyph outlines, text from the value of the mark they label.
Harson Ballistics draws this reticle at your magnification with your holdover marked on it, from your rifle, load and conditions. Works with no signal and no account.
