Official VMR-3 MRAD manual, page 2 Subtension Chart. Published: fine windage +/-5 MRAD, fine elevation 9 MRAD, half-mrad marks 0.2 across, whole-mrad marks 0.4, heavy bars 0.5 thick. Marks every 0.5 MRAD on both axes. There is NO ladder above centre - just a plain stadium to the edge of the sight picture - and no heavy bar above centre. SFP: the manual states the MRAD values are valid at the highest magnification on most models and tells the owner to check their own product manual, so each record carries its host scope's top power.
Rebuilt 15 Sep 2026 from the VMR-3 MRAD reticle manual (VTX_M-00357), page 2 Subtension Chart, read as VECTOR artwork rather than rasterised: 10.388 pt/mrad fitted to the 0.5 mrad tick pitch about the crosshair. Vortex manuals are normally NOT safe to measure - the EBR-4 manual says its drawing is for representation only - so the scale was proved before anything was taken from it: all five published figures land exactly on it, the windage line at +/-5.000, the elevation stem ending at -9.000, the half-mrad marks 0.200 across, the whole-mrad marks 0.400 and the heavy bars 0.500 thick. MEASURED: marks every 0.5 mrad on both axes, windage to +/-4.5 and elevation to -8.5, all lines 0.09 mrad thick; a plain stadium above centre with no marks on it, running to the rim at 9.31 mrad; heavy bars from +/-5 and from -9 out to that rim. The rim is the sight picture the chart draws, and at 18.6 mrad across it is close to a Viper HD's field at top magnification, which is a check on the scale and not a subtension. WHAT WAS WRONG: the old record drew EVERY mark at twice its length (0.2 and 0.4 read as half-extents when the manual dimensions them as total widths), put a full ladder of holds ABOVE the centre where the reticle has a plain stadium, omitted the half-mrad marks below 1 mrad and outside 2 mrad, invented a heavy bar above centre that does not exist, and drew every line 0.2 thick instead of 0.09.
