Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked
mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Vortex VMR-1 MOA — second focal plane, MOA subtensions, 4–24×
SFP. Manual: MOA values valid at highest magnification on most models — check the product manual for each SKU (12x / 16x / 24x). Published diagram: fine-line 0.15; long hash 1.5; short hash 0.7; inner posts ±18; bottom post −30; post weight 1.7. Text states 2 MOA hashmarks. A 4×2 MOA ranging box is drawn on the right horizontal arm. referenceMagnification left null because it differs by host scope. Reference magnification assumed = 16× (host scope's max, the usual SFP convention) — CONFIRM against the manual before marking verified.
How this one was checked
Rebuilt and verified 11 Sep 2026 from the Vortex VMR-1 MOA reticle manual (VTX_M-00160-0), page 2 for subtensions and page 3 for usage. ⚠️ UNLIKE the Nightforce and ZeroTech sheets, this one states 'Reticle image shown for representation only', so the DRAWING IS NOT A MEASUREMENT SOURCE and no scale was fitted to it. Dimensions are the published labels: 0.15 line weight, 0.7 and 1.5 hash heights, 1.7 post, 18 MOA horizontal, 30 MOA vertical, and a 4 x 2 MOA grid cell. Page 3's text gives the interval: 'the VMR-1's 2 MOA hashmarks'. The drawing was used only for STRUCTURE — marks alternate tall/short at a uniform pitch with the tall ones twice as far apart — which puts a mark every 2 MOA, 1.5 tall on the multiples of 4 and 0.7 on the intermediate twos. The measured height ratio in the drawing is 2.0:1 against a published 2.14:1, and that agreement is what makes this reading safe rather than a guess. Second focal plane: the subtensions are valid at the scope's calibrated magnification, which differs per host and is a property of the scope, not of this geometry.
Use it on your own rifle
Harson Ballistics draws this reticle at your magnification with your holdover marked on it,
