Vortex V-Plex

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Vortex V-Plex — second focal plane, MOA subtensions, 1–1×

Framed to about 40 MOA — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 120 MOA; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.

Drawn from Vortex Optics’s published specification.

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

Official per-scope sheet(s) publish three subtensions: 28.5 (centre to where the fine line meets the post), 2.5 (fine line) and 8.0 (post), MOA at the highest magnification. Plain duplex - no hashes, no holdover points. The fine line widens to the post along a straight shoulder 2.75 MOA long, drawn as a taper into the post. Posts are drawn to 120 MOA; on the scope they run to the edge of the field. Sheets: VTX_CF2-31047_V-PLEX_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf (1x24 Muzzleloader). Sheet notes: 'Subtensions measured in MOA and correspond to the highest magnification. Reticle image shown for representation only. Reticle image varies between riflescope models depending on magnification and reticle plane.'

How this one was checked

Verified 8 Oct 2026 against Vortex's per-scope sheet(s), specs/vortex/VTX_CF2-31047_V-PLEX_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf (1x24 Muzzleloader), page 1. Scale 2.835 pt/MOA from the 28.5 dimension arrow. Outline: fine line 2.500 (published 2.5), post 8.000 (8), shoulder 28.50 -> 31.25, 45 degrees. A fixed 1x scope, so the reference magnification is 1. Scale is taken from one published dimension and every other callout is then checked against it; all three land. The sheet says 'representation only', so the record carries the published numbers; the drawing supplies the structure (the shoulder). Bezier ON-curve vertices read directly from the PDF, and the arms profiled at 0.04 pt with text removed.
