Vortex V-Plex

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Vortex V-Plex — second focal plane, MOA subtensions, 3.5–10×

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

Official sheet publishes three subtensions: 4.3, 0.2 and 0.9 MOA, at the highest magnification. Plain duplex - no hash marks, no holdover points. SFP, so the subtensions hold only at 10x.

How this one was checked

Verified 16 Sep 2026 against Vortex's own V-Plex subtension sheet (VTX_DBK-M-03P, Diamondback 3.5-10x50). The sheet is marked 'reticle image shown for representation only', so numbers are taken from its callouts and the drawing is used only for structure - the rule settled for the Vortex VMR-2. The reticle is two bezier outlines rather than the rectangles the Athlon sheets use, so to_rects does not apply; a bezier's ON-curve endpoints are exact and reading those gives the duplex outright. Centre (198.0, 212.6) and the posts step out at 88.56 pt from centre in all four directions, symmetric to 0.01 pt. At about 20 pt/MOA the callouts land: thick post 17.71 pt = 0.886 against a published 0.9, post inner end 88.56 pt = 4.30 against a published 4.3, thin crosshair 5.32 pt = 0.27 against a published 0.2. Two of the three match closely; the finest element is drawn heavier than published, the same gap every Leupold sheet shows, and the published figure is the one recorded. Scoped to the 3.5-10x50 deliberately - the sheet says the image varies between scope models with magnification and reticle plane, so this record does not claim the whole V-Plex family.
