Vortex JM-1 BDC

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Vortex JM-1 BDC — second focal plane, MOA subtensions, 1–6×

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

SFP; the sheet: 'subtensions measured in MOA and correspond to the highest magnification' (6x; the manual: hashmarks 'designed to work with the riflescope set at the highest magnification'). Published: illuminated centre dot .5; line .5; side posts 1.5 thick from 15; bottom post from 35; holdover hashes at 2.4 / 5.6 / 9.5 / 14.6 below centre, 2.865 / 2.15 / 1.7 / 1.435 wide. Drawn, not published (the sheet is exactly to scale): a plain crosshair through the dot; the holdover hashes are as thick as the line (.5); the vertical line above centre runs to the field edge with no top post; posts square-ended. Posts drawn to 40 MOA. The manual maps the hashes to 300 / 400 / 500 / 600 yds for 5.56 55-77 gr zeroed at 200 - ballistic suggestions, not geometry. Reticle image shown for representation only. Reticle image varies between riflescope models depending on magnification and reticle plane.

How this one was checked

Verified 9 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_RZR-16008_JM-1-BDC_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1 (re-downloaded from the source URL the same day, byte-identical). Scale 4.57 pt/MOA fitted to the .5 centre dot and the 15 dimension, centre (198.0035, 221.102) = the red dot; every position and width read as the outline's ON-curve vertices (asserted in the builder); the Razor HD Gen II sheet VTX_RZR-16003 has the identical outline, vertex for vertex. Every published callout is checked in tools/build_vortex_wave2.py and lands. Checklist walked: rows and extents, hash spacing, numerals, centre element and gap, post tips, which side of the line each mark sits (all centred unless the notes say otherwise), every callout.

Subtensions are published by the manufacturer and reproduced here for reference. Confirm your own dope on a range before you rely on any of it. Harson.ai is not affiliated with Vortex.
