Vortex HSR-5i MOA

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

SFP; the sheet: 'subtensions measured in MOA and correspond to the highest magnification' - the manual names it, 15x. Published: illuminated centre dot .35; line .2; hashes 2 MOA apart; horizontal hashes 1 tall at 2 / 6 / 10; vertical hashes 2 and 4 wide; side posts 1.5 thick, pointed, starting 13 from centre. Drawn, not published (the sheet is exactly to scale): the lines are open 1 MOA around the dot; horizontal hashes every 2 MOA to 12, 2 tall at 4 / 8 / 12; the vertical scale runs below centre only, every 2 MOA to 32, 4 wide at every 4 MOA and 2 wide between, except the first hash at 2 which is 1 wide; nothing above centre; each side post comes to its point over 1.5 MOA (13 to 14.5). Numerals 4 / 8 / 12 under the horizontal arms, 8 / 16 / 24 / 32 right of the vertical. Posts drawn to 40 MOA. Reticle image shown for representation only. Reticle image varies between riflescope models depending on magnification and reticle plane.

How this one was checked

Verified 9 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_RZR-31501_HSR-5i_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1 (re-downloaded from the source URL the same day, byte-identical). Scale 5.31492 pt/MOA fitted to the 13 dimension (centre to post tip), centre (198.0, 221.102) = the red dot; geometry converted exactly from the vector outlines. Every published callout is checked in tools/build_vortex_wave2.py and lands. Checklist walked: rows and extents, hash spacing, numerals, centre element and gap, post tips, which side of the line each mark sits (all centred unless the notes say otherwise), every callout.
