Vortex HSR-4 MOA

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

SFP; the sheet: 'subtensions are measured in MOA and correspond to the highest magnification' (10x). Published for this scope (sheet, and the manual's table): line 0.25; side posts 2.0 thick reaching full width 10 from centre; centre cross arms 1.5; hashes 2 MOA apart, vertical hashes 2 and 4 wide. Drawn, not published (the sheet is exactly to scale): a small floating cross at centre, arms 1.5, 0.15 thick; the scales start clear of it at 1.875; horizontal hashes every 2 MOA to 8, 1 tall at 2 / 6 and 2 tall at 4 / 8; the vertical scale runs below centre only, every 2 MOA to 24, 4 wide at every 4 MOA and 2 between, the first (at 2) 1 wide; nothing above centre and no bottom post; side posts pointed from 8.5 to 10. Numerals 8 under both horizontal arms and 8 / 16 / 24 right of the vertical. Posts drawn to 40 MOA. The sheet draws no part in illumination red. Reticle image shown for representation only. Reticle image varies between scope models depending on magnification and reticle plane.

How this one was checked

Verified 9 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_RZR-1558_HSR-4_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1 (re-downloaded from the source URL the same day, byte-identical). Scale 6.8031 pt/MOA fitted to the 10 dimension, centre (198.4255, 212.599) = the centre cross; geometry converted exactly from the vector outlines. Every published callout is checked in tools/build_vortex_wave2.py and lands. Checklist walked: rows and extents, hash spacing, numerals, centre element and gap, post tips, which side of the line each mark sits (all centred unless the notes say otherwise), every callout.
