Vortex G4i BDC MRAD

Drawn to scale from Vortex’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Vortex G4i BDC MRAD — second focal plane, MRAD subtensions, 3–15×

Drawn from Vortex Optics’s published specification.

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

SFP; the sheet: 'subtensions measured in MRAD and correspond to the highest magnification' (15x; the manual says to check the product manual for the calibrated magnification). Published: illuminated centre dot .1; fine line .05 from .6, stepping to .15 at 1.2 and to the .4 post at 2.3 on both sides; holdover hashes at 1.3 and 2.2 below centre; bottom post from 3.2. Drawn, not published (the sheet is exactly to scale): nothing above centre and nothing inside .6 but the dot; each step is a straight shoulder (.05 to .15 over 1.2-1.28, .15 to .4 over 2.3-2.52, bottom .05 to .4 over 3.2-3.5); the holdover hashes are .25 long and as thick as the line. Posts drawn to 12 mil. The manual's class tables map the hashes to yardages for given loads - ballistic suggestions, not geometry. Reticle image shown for representation only. Reticle image varies between riflescope models depending on magnification and reticle plane.

How this one was checked

Verified 9 Oct 2026 against specs/vortex/VTX_RZR-31503_G4i-BDC_MRAD_RS_I_RI_ST.pdf page 1 (re-downloaded from the source URL the same day, byte-identical). Scale 34.62 pt/mil fitted to the .1 centre dot, centre (198.425, 221.103) = the red dot; the .6 / 1.2 / 2.3 / 1.3 / 2.2 / 3.2 positions and .05 / .15 / .4 weights read as the outline's ON-curve vertices (asserted in the builder). Every published callout is checked in tools/build_vortex_wave2.py and lands. Checklist walked: rows and extents, hash spacing, numerals, centre element and gap, post tips, which side of the line each mark sits (all centred unless the notes say otherwise), every callout.
