In the first focal plane the subtensions hold true at every magnification, so a hold is a hold wherever the zoom ring sits.

Drawn to scale from Athlon’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Framed to about 12 MRAD — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 40 MRAD; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.
Drawn from Athlon Optics’s published specification.
In the first focal plane the subtensions hold true at every magnification, so a hold is a hold wherever the zoom ring sits.
Official table p.4: A1=0.03 (fine line), A2=0.5 (post), B1=0.18, B2=0.4, B3=0.4, B4=0.15, C1=0.2, C2=0.5, C3=1, D1=0.05, D2=0.1, D3=0.03 (center dot). Text: 0.2 mil hashes center to 6 mil L/R; floating 0.03 mil center dot. Tree dots from ~2–10 mil drawn; individual tree-dot (x,y) not tabulated.
Verified 16 Sep 2026 against page 3 of Athlon's own APRS1 FFP IR MIL reticle manual (Ares ETR 4.5-30x56), read as vector rectangles with tools/pdf_vectors.py and rebuilt by tools/build_athlon_aprs1.py. Scale 8.6560 pt/mil, fitted over 86 horizontal ticks on a 0.2 mil grid, mean residual 0.0095 mil; the red arms then measure 9.003 mil and the down arm 10.005, both landing on integers unprompted. STRUCTURE: cross to 9 mil left, right and up and to 10 mil down; black posts from 9.5 (10.5 below). A 0.05 mil centre dot. Marks every 0.2 mil from centre to 6 on the windage arms - Athlon's prose says exactly that - then every 0.5 mil to 9. The up arm carries 0.2 mil marks only to 0.8 and then 0.5 mil pitch to 9. The down arm runs 0.5 mil pitch to 7 and then a 0.2 mil fine band out to 10, the same shape as the APMR's 7-to-9 band. LENGTHS: the INNERMOST marks at +/-0.2 are 0.1 long, shorter than the 0.18 of every other 0.2-pitch mark - that is published B1 and flattening it would be wrong; whole mils 0.4, half mils 0.15. HOLD GRID: 204 square dots 0.05 mil across in ten rows at 1 mil from -1 to -10, half-widths 0.8 / 1.8x3 / 2.8x3 / 3.8x3, dots every 0.2 mil in 1-mil blocks with the whole mil left empty and the innermost at 0.4. Measured row counts 6/14/14/14/22/22/22/30/30/30 and the rebuild reproduces them. The old record claimed a grid in its text and drew NONE - it carried the validator's PARTIAL warning. All twelve published figures map: A1 0.03 cross weight (drawn 0.02, published wins), A2 0.5 post weight, B1 0.1 innermost mark, B2 0.18 fine mark, B3 0.4 whole mil, B4 0.15 half mil, C1 0.2 / C2 0.5 / C3 1 the three pitches, D1 0.05 dot size, D2 0.1 and D3 0.03 the fine mark and line weights.
