In the first focal plane the subtensions hold true at every magnification, so a hold is a hold wherever the zoom ring sits.
Reticle library · Schmidt & Bender
Drawn to scale from Schmidt & Bender’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.
Framed to about 12 MRAD — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 26.5 MRAD; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.
Drawn from Schmidt & Bender GmbH & Co. KG’s published specification.
In the first focal plane the subtensions hold true at every magnification, so a hold is a hold wherever the zoom ring sits.
First focal plane, mrad: S&B's GR²ID dot-grid holdover tree. Red illuminated 0.05 mrad centre dot floating in a gap; 0.2 mrad scales out to 10 mrad on the horizontal line (numbered 6, 8, 10) and up the top stem, with an alternating 0.1 mrad fine scale between 4 and 5; heavy 0.3 mrad posts from 10 mrad left, right and up; below centre a grid of dots and crosses at 0.2 / 0.5 / 1 mrad, rows numbered 1 to 12 and widening downward, with red illuminated dots marking selected rows; the stem continues below the grid, marked every 0.2 mrad to 14 and every 0.5 mrad beyond, numbered every 2 mrad; the grid also rises two rows above the horizontal line. Letter table (cm/100 m / 10 = mrad), each letter found on the drawing: A 0.05 red centre dot, B 0.06 dots (the half-mil grid), C 0.08 dots (whole-mil grid corners), D 0.04 dots (the 0.2 mrad sub-grid), E 1 mrad and F 0.5 mrad spacing, G 0.4 whole-mil mark length, H 0.2 mark length and fine-scale spacing, K 0.1 (the one-sided half-mil marks above the horizontal line, and the 0.1 fine scale between 4 and 5), L 0.075 (marks reaching below the line; the mrad row prints it 0.08 or 0.07 depending on the sheet, the cm row 0.75 on all), M 0.3 crosses. Unlettered, measured: post thickness 0.30 (0.303). Posts, the top post and the lower stem run to the edge of the field at lowest magnification (26.5 mrad). The reticle's engraved 'GR2ID' name near the bottom of the field is not drawn.
Verified 9 Oct 2026 against Schmidt-Bender-Datasheet-GR2ID-FFP-5-25x56-PMII.pdf (GR2ID.zip), pages 2 and 3. The grid is READ, not typed: tools/extract_sb_gr2id.py turns the 5-25x56 sheet's filled vector outlines (CAD triangles, paired back into rectangles and dots) into 1,651 elements - every dot, cross, mark and numeral, mark by mark - including 95 dots that sheet draws only as an unfilled outline (filled on the 5-45x56 and 6-36x56 sheets). This sheet: page-2 centre and scale (314.026, 378.195), 15.2785 pt/mrad (scale from the 16 whole-mil marks on the horizontal axis, linear fit residual 0.0003 mrad; centre from the 0.05 mrad red dot A). The record was rasterised as the app draws it and XOR-compared with page 2's fill geometry at 600 dpi, 2 px (tools/pdf_sheet_compare.py) inside +/-11.5 mrad: the source of the extracted core. Every letter A-M was located on the drawing by its dimension lines (E 1.000, F 0.500, G 0.400, H 0.200, K 0.100, L 0.075, M 0.300 measured; dots 0.05/0.06/0.08/0.04 measured as extracted). Page 3 lowest-magnification view: posts tips +/-10 and the field edge at 26.5 mrad; the lower stem's marks fit the 0.2-to-14 / 0.5-beyond pattern with residual under 0.005 mrad after a common 0.2% scale correction (page 3 draws the post tips 0.02 further out than its marks), and the stem numerals sit at every even mil from 14. Sides, from the extracted geometry: on the horizontal line the half-mil marks (K, 0.1) sit above and the 0.2 marks (L, 0.075) below; between 4 and 5 the 0.1 fine scale alternates, odd tenths above and even below; on the top stem the same scales sit left (half-mil, odd tenths) and right (even tenths).
