Schmidt & Bender FD7

Drawn to scale from Schmidt & Bender’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Schmidt & Bender FD7 — second focal plane, MRAD subtensions

Framed to about 12 MRAD — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 25.4 MRAD; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.

Drawn from Schmidt & Bender GmbH & Co. KG’s published specification.

Subtensions

Second focal plane, mrad, values at the scope's top magnification (the sheet's column for it): heavy posts left, right and below, thin cross, open top, illuminated centre dot. From S&B's dimensioned reticle data sheet for this scope. At 8x: A 14 between the post tips, B 0.5 post, C 0.08 line, D 0.19 dot (1x: 110.75 / 3.96 / 0.59 / 1.54; 4x: 28 / 1 / 0.15 / 0.39). The bottom post tip (7, = A/2) is not lettered; measured from the drawing. Posts and the upper line run to the edge of the field in the lowest-magnification view (25.4 mrad).

How this one was checked

Verified 8 Oct 2026 against Schmidt-Bender-Datasheet-FD7-SFP-1-8x24-Exos.pdf, pages 2 and 3. Vector drawing, measured on fill geometry only. Page 2 centre from the crossing of the thin lines, scale from A (left/right post tips) = 14.714 pt/mrad; page 3 lowest-magnification view the same way, 9.194 pt/mrad. Drawn at 8x: post 0.499, line 0.077, dot 0.196. Page 3 is one view 'at all magnification'; field edge 25.4 at 8x. The record was rasterised as the app draws it and XOR-compared with page 2 at 600 dpi: inside the page-2 frame nothing disagrees beyond 2 px except the sheet's own dimension arrowheads; the post and line extents beyond that frame were checked against the field edge on page 3 (re-checked 8 Oct 2026 in review). No marks or numerals on this reticle; post tips square.
