Kahles IPSC

Drawn to scale from Kahles’s own specification sheet, and checked mark by mark by a person. This is the same geometry Harson Ballistics draws your holdover on.

Kahles IPSC — second focal plane, MRAD subtensions, 1–8×

Framed to about 12 MRAD — the part of the reticle you aim with. This reticle carries marks out to 25.6401 MRAD; the rest sits beyond the edge of this drawing.

Drawn from KAHLES GmbH’s published specification.

In the second focal plane the subtensions are only true at one magnification — check your manual for which, and dial there before you hold.

Subtensions

Second focal plane, mrad, true at 8x. Kahles prints every callout at 1x and at 8x and they scale exactly 8:1. From the 1x column / 8: the horizontal bars start 20 mrad apart (16 m/100 m at 1x) and run to the edge of the field, 0.0725 thick (5.8 cm at 1x; the 8x column rounds to 0.7 cm); red illuminated centre dot 0.261 across (20.9 cm at 1x, 2.6 cm at 8x); a black dot 1.0 mrad above and another 1.0 below it (80 cm at 1x, 10 cm at 8x). The black dots' size is not lettered: measured from the CAD drawing as the same as the red dot (2.7-2.9 pt against 2.8-2.9 pt on a 0.1 pt grid), recorded as 0.26. The bars reach the edge of the field, 25.6 mrad from centre in 8x terms (the field at 1x). No vertical line.

How this one was checked

Verified 9 Oct 2026 against IPSC_K18i.PDF (Kahles, 91021082297-100): page 2 callouts walked (gap, bar thickness, red dot, dot step - each 1x value is exactly 8x its 8x value within the 8x column's rounding) and page 1's filled CAD outlines measured as vectors: red dot centre (303.9, 382.84) pt, bar inner ends 107.8 pt either side -> 10.78 pt per mrad at 8x; the black dots sit 10.8 pt (1.002) above and below; bar thickness 0.8 pt (0.074, the drawing's 0.1 pt grid against the published 0.0725); red dot 2.8 x 2.9 pt (0.26-0.27). Page 2's dimension lines land on the same features. Record rasterised as the app draws it and XOR-compared with page 1's fill geometry (tools/pdf_sheet_compare.py, 600 dpi, 2 px): only the stair-stepped edges of the dots differ.
