Burris Fine Plex — second focal plane, MOA subtensions, 5–25×
Official Signature HD user manual, PDF page 9 (printed 8), 'Fine Plex', 5-25x row: A .08 (fine line), B .20 (post), C 10.00 MOA. C is the FULL opening between opposite post tips - its two extension lines sit on the top and bottom tips - so the posts start 5 MOA from centre, not 10 (this record drew them at 10 until 8 Oct 2026, twice too wide). The horizontal opening is drawn equal to the vertical one on the sheet (tips at 5.00 MOA on all four arms). The manual says RFP holdover is correct only at the highest magnification (PDF p.6), so the figures hold at 25x. Not illuminated (spec table, PDF p.7: Fine Plex carries no '**'). Each post tip is chamfered over 0.05 MOA on the sheet, from line width to post width; drawn square here. Posts are drawn to 40 MOA as a display convention - on the glass they run to the edge of the field.
How this one was checked
Verified 8 Oct 2026 against Burris's Signature HD user manual (specs/burris/burris-signaturehd-scopes-user-manual-press-3.pdf, PDF page 9, 'Fine Plex' detail) by reading the vector artwork with pymupdf (tools/build_burris_fixes.py re-measures it on every run). Scale: C = 10.00 MOA between its two extension lines (308.253 and 422.422 pt) gives 11.417 pt/MOA; at that one scale A lands at 0.080 on both lines, B at 0.200 on all four posts, and the four post tips (where the fine lines end) at 5.000 MOA from centre. The overview drawing on the same page has the same proportions (A:B:opening = .008:.020:1). Checklist: (1) plain crosshair, four posts, no holdover marks; (2) no hashes or dots; (3) no numerals; (4) no centre dot or gap - both fine lines run through centre; (5) post tips chamfered over 0.05 MOA on all four arms, drawn square (sub-resolution); (6) fine lines +/-5 both axes, posts beyond, artwork clipped at the field edge; (7) letters A, B, C each found in the geometry; (8) no one-sided marks. Reference magnification 25x from the manual's RFP statement (PDF p.6), not printed on the Fine Plex page itself.
